Huskers Edge Out Hawkeyes for Wide Receiver

The pile of evidence that Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck wants the Cornhuskers to feature a deadly aerial attack continues to grow.

Akron Ohio’s Kevin Gladney, a 6’1″ 175-pound wide receiver announced his verbal commitment to sign with the Huskers as a part of Nebraska’s 2013 class.

The Cornhuskers ultimately battled Iowa for Gladney’s commitment, but the Buckeye State native also had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Miami (OH) and Cincinnati among others.

While lacking a flood of BCS conference offers, several programs were after Gladney that take pride in featuring prominent passing attacks.

With the departure of Tim Marlowe, KC Hyland, Taylor Dixon and Steven Osborne following the 2012 season, Nebraska appears to be well on their way to restocking the cupboards with Beck’s choice of goods.
