Well the temps will be down considerably here tomorrow and it will feel like just like football season in Lincoln right here in Virginia. Whoo Hoo! The Sea of Red will be more like the C of Red for tomorrow’s game in Ames,Iowa but those of us Husker faithful not able to make the trek to Cyclone Country can be glued to the tube to cheer on our team. 12:30 pm on the Versus network. A couple of other fellow I Bleed Husker Red's that live in the area and I will be tailgating at my place before the action hits my big screen. GO BIG RED!

My game prediction: On Defense, the Huskers will be more disciplined to cut down on the penalties and work hard to get after the ball. Penalties on both side of the ball will be down. I’d say they’ll cut it to 0, but who would I be kidding. Let’s just say, they’ll be better. We should look for the defense to come up with few big plays tomorrow. They’ll be hungry a week after a close one in Lubbock.

One the other side of the ball, our Offense will hit all cylinders with Ganz passing for 300+ yards and run the ball better maybe seeing Lucky reeling in his second 100 yard game of the season.

The Cornhuskers will welcome Cody Glenn, Phillip Dillard, and Rickey Thenarse back to the field of play on Saturday’s 31 – 20 win over the Cyclones. GO HUSKERS!!!

With a 2 touchdown lead at half-time by Texas Tech, I thought at least the Huskers were hanging in and at least had a chance to keep the game close. But what a second half for the Huskers. Although the Cornhuskers fell to the 7th Ranked Red Raiders, they showed that they haven’t given up for the season. I really do think that the Huskers have a great shot at 5 more wins and maybe even a 6th if they could pull a huge upset win in Norman before the end of the season. OK, I know it’s going to be a tough road head but I’m much more hopeful for our team today then I was a week ago. Bo and the coaching staff put together a great game plan and the players executed pretty well. I’m already looking forward to next week! Go Big Red!

Huskers vs the Red Raiders - Oh, I don't feel so good.....

This coming Saturday the Huskers will face the high octane passing game of the 5 -0 Texas Tech Red Raiders. Since viewing last weekends (to quote a fellow Locker Roomer ) “pummeling” of the Cornhuskers by Missouri, I’ve had nightmares of the 70-10 butt whooping handed to the Huskers by Texas Tech a few years ago. Although the Huskers have found victory in 7 of the last 9 meetings with the Red Raiders, Nebraska will surely be the underdog in this match up at Texas Tech. I believe now and even before last weekend that Missouri would be the toughest test for the Huskers this year. By the end of the game Missouri had a lot of 2nd and 3rd string players in the game. Missouri was tough but also kind while Texas Tech won’t. They will run up the score if we let them. I’m hoping that the Huskers can put to use some lessons handed to them by Missouri. If so, and they play solid football with heart for every minute of the 4 quarters, I am optimistic that they at least have some chance to keep the game close and maybe, just maybe even an upset. Those are my thoughts on this weekend’s match up. P.s…Could we work on reducing the penalties too!
