OK everybody, this is your chance tho let loose on your thoughts of our Blackshirts, what's gonna happen the rest of the year, are they even going to hand Blackshirts out this year, to what you see as progress.

Here are a few of my thoughts, I love the effort and the no pointing fingers/blame game this year. But still there are too many mental mistakes and breakdowns that are just not accpetable, not at this level and not for an athlete that plays for the Univeristy of Nebraska.

3-3 is a record I think a lot of people thought we'd be at right now and honestly, Nebraska could and should be 5-1, but should and could don't matter again bottom line is 3-3. This team needs to learn how to play with confidence and learn how to win again against teams that they "aren't suppost to beat" which really sounds weird to say about any Nebraska team.

What are your thoughts on Coach Bo getting into his coaching staff's face when things went wrong against TT? I loved it, showed passion and accountability!

Penalities-gotta cut down! That has been a killer. 2 holding calls = 20 yards which also = too far a field goal try, which was a great attempt considering the conditions but bottom line is no points scored. Too many personal fouls, too many false starts/offsides.

Big plays-too many big plays because people are losing focus just for a second. It has been the big plays that have cost the game against both Tech teams. Gotta cut them down some way or another.

Do I think that the Blackshirts will be given out, no I don't. But I think that maybe some players will be given an individual Blackshirt maybe at the end of the year or maybe to a person of leadership. Do I like the idea of individual Blackshirts, no because this is a team game, but with no real "Blackshirts" on the team and with some of the players not knowing what a real "Blackshirt" means, maybe giving out individual one's is just what this group needs to see what they need to do, what kind of work ethic they need to have both on and off the field, everything that goes with it.

To wrap it up, this teams in my opinion is night and day different than last year. There is no quit in this team, when mistakes happen, they support each other. The team chemistry is awesome! With exception to the Missouri game, this team has scored 30+ points and are trusting each other. After falling behind early to both Tech's, this team showed a lot of heart to fight their way back into the game, stayed competitive where last year they would roll over and just take the beating.

I am very proud of what I am seeing so far, to an extent, I am not satisfied losing to Virginia Tech or Texas Tech but I liked the no quit attitude. Nebraska is 3-3 with 6 regular season games to go. This team knows they can win, now they just have to learn how to finish off a close game. Regain that taste of smash mouth football on both sides of the ball. The offense for the most part is doing their job (just gotta get more consistant with our O-line???) and the defense will come around and they are going to surprise some teams.

There is plenty of talent right now to not be making the mistakes that are being made. Cut out the mistakes both penalties and turnovers and ladies and gentlemen, Nebraksa is 5-1 and at least a top 20 team. How close are we to a return to the top, well that's yet to be seen, but I can see the blue prints to how this project is going to be built.
