Has to be Ndamukong Suh, he is a beast and a true statement of the BLACKSHIRTS.
– Nov 13, 2011 at 7:29 pm
Tommie Frazier best college football player to never win the Heisman. Eddie George should really hand it over.
– Oct 22, 2009 at 8:21 pm
My fav. is Joe Ganz. For him to step in when he did and accomplish as much as he did is great. My hats off to him.
– Oct 22, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Dan Schneiss
– Oct 22, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Turner Gill.... amazing to watch when I was a kid.
– Oct 22, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Touchdown Tommie Frasier! The run against Florida will forever define my love for Husker football. =)
– Oct 22, 2009 at 4:42 pm
It has to be Eric Crouch, who came out of nowhere and proved to be one of the fastest quarterbacks, if not any position, of all time. Watching him pull away from the opponents chasing him, left everyone stunned, time and time again. Not to mention his passing abilities.

Turner Gill - class act - endless talent - successful on and off the field - he's exactly what Husker Football is all about!
– Oct 22, 2009 at 11:17 am
98 Grant Wistrom. What a class act in college and the pros.
– Oct 22, 2009 at 10:56 am
Mike Minter was the man. I also got to follow him with the Carolina Panthers being right up the road. I believe he is still their all time leading tackler. I remember in preseason practice in Charlotte he hit someone so hard he pretty much messed his whole side up knee, ankle, hip.
– Oct 22, 2009 at 1:27 am
Mr excitement, Johnny Rogers.
– Oct 20, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Josh and Daniel Bullocks--it was cool to see them playing side by side, and they always knew where to be to get the INT. They were both great tacklers too.
– Oct 20, 2009 at 7:01 pm
Absolutely Ndomukong Suh! I love watching him so much that I am gonna end up watching football on sundays next year. He is a dominant force that cant be stopped, and it is so fun to watch him play. Tommie frazier with a close #2

Mike Rozier has been my idle for many of my football playing years, part of the scoring explosion, Heisman Trophy winner, just an outstanding I-Back, but one of my other favorites is the greatly loved and missed Brook Berringer, a great leader and friend, was never late, never complained about anything, always knew to do whatever it was he had to do, wouldve been a great quarterback to finish out at nebraska and had on hell of a career in the pros. GBR!!!
– Oct 20, 2009 at 5:02 am
Rod Smith. I met him when I was a kid and was the nicest guy a kid could ever meet. He sent me his autographed poster and signed it. When my family made it to games, we go to the sideline and he'd always recognize us and give me a pair of wristbands. Quite impressive for a 10yr old.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:40 pm
My favorite Husker of all time would have to be
Turner Gill because he has continued his success
story into the coaching ranks, and he will always be
remembered by true Husker fans.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Johnny 'The Jet' Rogers! He brought our team to the top of the football world and his return immortalized by the Lyell Bremser call is still the best Husker highlight. GBR!!!
– Oct 19, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Pat Fischer, longtime pro DB and pound for pound the toughest Husker ever.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 9:34 pm
er
Ahman Green, the last great I-back @ NU, part of 2 national championships and went on to star for my Packers as well.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 8:22 pm
Christian Peter. I'll always remember him 'strutting' into the end zone.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 8:00 pm
My favorite player is Jason Peter...pre drugs. I loved his passion and leadership and endurance. Even with back pain, he was still a dominating force. I think he often gets overshadowed because he played with Grant Wistrom. Had Jason played at a different time than Grant, I think he would be reverred in the same light...minus the drugs.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 6:11 pm
I'd be in big trouble if I didn't say "#83, Larry Tomlinson" because I went to high school with him and also Nebraska. And, to top it off, he scored the first touch of the Devaney era!
– Oct 19, 2009 at 5:17 pm
My favorite: Mike Rozier. He was unstoppable!
– Oct 19, 2009 at 5:01 pm
Cory Schlesinger
– Oct 19, 2009 at 3:53 pm
I used to hang around campus when I was a kid and Andre Franklin was always so nice and like to mess with us, cool guy.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Dave Rimington
– Oct 19, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Ed Stewart
– Oct 19, 2009 at 2:01 pm
My favorite husker of all time is... Joel Mackovica.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 2:01 pm
T. Fraz...how could anyone have another fav Husker than the man, the myth, the legend? There were some greats over the years, but none on the level of what Frazier brought to NU.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 2:00 pm
My favorite Husker player over the years probably has to be Eric Crouch.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 1:56 pm
All time favorite: Grant Wistrom. I was in middle school when he was playing and loved watching him with my Dad.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 1:41 pm
I have so many favorites from Bobby Reynolds through Namukong Suh but one player stands out because he was an exceptional person and player...Kenny Walker. Kenny was an All-American in 1990 in 4 of the 5 All-American lists and the Big 8 defensive player of the year and he accomplished this even though he had been deaf since the age of 2. What an inspiration he was.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 1:33 pm
Gotta be Touchdown Tommie Frazier. The guy was just a flat out winner, and his 75 yard run against Florida epitomized his whole career--play hard and never give up.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 1:27 pm
Has to be Touchdown Tommy Frazier!! I'll never forget "The Run" I still remember screamin at the top of my lungs as he was running the ball for the score making the Gators (and my Florida lovin buddies) sick!!!
– Oct 19, 2009 at 1:01 pm
Touchdown Tommy Frazier. What an awesome player. Who can forget that mighty touchdown run against Steve Spurrier's Florida Gators.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 12:55 pm
Terrell Farley...loved seeing that guy fly around the field...
– Oct 19, 2009 at 12:45 pm
My favorite Husker player over the years probably has to be Dennis Claridge.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 12:33 pm
My favorite Husker Player was Dave Rimington. I remember a story in the World Herald about him that said when the weightroom was closed he would push his Volkswagen Beetle around the parking lot in place of weight training.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Joe Orduna. Quite, Strong. Nebraska.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:56 am
I am a huge fan of Turner Gill and truly appreciate many other great players. Turner though best exemplifies the quality of person, student and athlete that makes me proud to be part of Husker Nation. His picture should be posted in the dictionary by the word class.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:21 am
There are so many to choose from, but I think, right now, I would have to say Mike Brown.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:18 am
Grant Wistrom by far, I purchased a blank authentic jersey from Husker authentics 1n 1994 and then had numbers applied. It is the only jersey I wear to Nebraska Home games. Still going strong 15 years later.

Turner Gill was a great player, and after reading his profile, just made me realize what a great and faithful person he really is. Publicly giving testament of God being in his life takes great faith and love in the Lord.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:08 am
May favorite player of time was Brook Berringer. He was a class act that never let anything get in the way of his personal success. He was behind a superstar in Tommy Fraiser, yet never gave up and gave 100% everyday. We all know the story that he eventually got his shot was fantatic - unfortunatly he was taken from all of us too soon in life.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:07 am
My favorite Husker of all time was Turner Gill. With all due respect to the great QBs that followed him, watching Turner run the option was a thing of beauty. He would wait until the very last possible second before making that pitch. To this day, he was still the best I've ever seen at it.
– Oct 19, 2009 at 11:04 am
My favorite player of all-time was QB Matt Turman. I remember going to games and seeing the graphic of the 'Turman-ator' on Huskervision, with his dark glasses on. I always thought that was the coolest thing to be able to scream Turman-ator!. Even though he didn't play a large part in Husker history, his cool name made the game day experience that much better for me.
