A quick abbreviation key FYI: OWH=Omaha World-Herald, LJS=Lincoln Journal-Star, CN=Corn Nation, BRN=Big Red Network, HI=Huskers Illustrated, BRR=Big Red Report. If we need to add more - we will. Others, like ESPN, are self-explanatory.
Cool? Cool!
*Chase Harper, a tight end from Navarro (Texas) Junior College, will not make it to Lincoln this fall after failing to academically qualify.
*A Colorado columnist talks about the end of NU-CU.
*A bit more on NU’s phenom quarterback recruit, Bubba Starling.
*Pete Carroll: Win Forever.

I don't think I'm alone in terms of Husker fans living in Colorado when I say that I'll be missing the following things about the NU-CU series.
1. Nothing
2. Nada
3. Zilch
4. Empty Set
5. Bupkis
I never have to go to Folsom ever again! I never have to pretend that reading a column from the Boulder Daily Camera is somehow relevant to my life again(Of course Neil Woelk will miss the NU-CU rivalry, the only time his page hits get about 100 is when he mentions Nebraska, you better be thankful we 'maybe take this too seriously'.)! The entire series, is completely lose-lose for Nebraska and always has been.
Good bye, good riddance and feel free to never write or call, Buffie fans!
(Feel bad for Chase Harper, it's on him, obviously, but that's a tough blow this late in the game. Hope he lands on his feet and gets them books together because he needs some upper level D-I coaching to keep playing in the pros. Obviously that's one less player who could have been a breakout big play guy in 2010, but overall, I feel pretty good about the talent at TE. Does HL know anything about Braylon Heard, yet?)

Bubba Starling seems almost too good to be true. I can only dream of how good a QB he might be for NU. But, it is scary how good he is at Baseball and how he may very well forego college and go with the MLB draft.

Crap! Harper was supposed to be one of the better weapons of this class. You wonder what the coaches will do since they "moved" Mike McNeill to WR or "adjuster" from TE. Will McNeill move back to TE? With the stong possibility that Braylon Heard will not qualify academically either (although I haven't heard anything definite on this - just a rumor), this class has lost some of it's luster with the loss of 2 of the higher calibur skill position players. Arrgggghhhh!!! Oh well, we've saying that NU is loaded at TE for a while now, back to the same old wish - I hope that we can find a way to utilize the talent we have.
