This coming Saturday the Huskers will face the high octane passing game of the 5 -0 Texas Tech Red Raiders. Since viewing last weekends (to quote a fellow Locker Roomer ) “pummeling” of the Cornhuskers by Missouri, I’ve had nightmares of the 70-10 butt whooping handed to the Huskers by Texas Tech a few years ago. Although the Huskers have found victory in 7 of the last 9 meetings with the Red Raiders, Nebraska will surely be the underdog in this match up at Texas Tech. I believe now and even before last weekend that Missouri would be the toughest test for the Huskers this year. By the end of the game Missouri had a lot of 2nd and 3rd string players in the game. Missouri was tough but also kind while Texas Tech won’t. They will run up the score if we let them. I’m hoping that the Huskers can put to use some lessons handed to them by Missouri. If so, and they play solid football with heart for every minute of the 4 quarters, I am optimistic that they at least have some chance to keep the game close and maybe, just maybe even an upset. Those are my thoughts on this weekend’s match up. P.s…Could we work on reducing the penalties too!
