HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!
It was one year ago this day, that we Huskers were freed from the black cloud of death known as “Pediocrity”.
It was on this day October 15, that the silver haired snake, was relieved of his duties as athletic director of all Husker sports. The Lord returned to us the gift known as “Tom Osborne”, in order to rebuild what Steve Pederson ruined. Personally, I am debating about the value of a commemorative tattoo for this joyous occasion. Let us all share in the exuberance of a resurrection of program we know and love.

I don,t mention Callahan in the blog. Personally I thought Callahan could have been a pretty good coach if he was given a chance to fix his "defense". Pedersen was a pompous Ass, plain and simple. I have nothing against him hiring Callahan, he could recruit and coach offense. Callahan's down fall was his inability to understand what people in Nebraska loved about their program, and well, Cosgrove. He was sunk from the day Cosgrove was announced as DC, period. He also ignored the talent level on that side of the ball for too long also. Only now are we getting some B12 level talent on the field there, from some of his recruiting, where as in reality (with his ability to recruit) we should be flush with talent. It is the same pitfall Solich had (non offensive recruiting), ignoring half the problem. To me as head coaches go, they are pretty close to equal, if not mirror images of each other. The difference is, Pedersen chose to fire Solich after a 10 win season, when he should have been let go the year before. Bad move Pedersen. making the athletic facilities a compound instead of a friendly atmosphere, bad move Pedersen. Cutting off ex players, pretty much ignoring the past, taking down our hall of famers pictures, all bad moves. That joke of a coaching search, another bad move, that put egg on UNL's face, and his. We looked ridiculous nationally. Have you ever met Mr. Pedersen? I have "met" him, and found him to be aloof. In fact I dont know if he even saw me, with his nose that high, how could he? The guy is a text book definition of a prick, friend.
And seriously, broke every passing record at NU? Dude come up with a better argument then that, it wasn't very hard.

Correct about Pederson. Those who think they are better than you are well...misguided.
Would be nice to get back his and Callahan's "Golden Parachutes!"

I could not have have put that any better myself. From here forward I will commemorate this day with a number of tall cool ones!

Here's what I always said about Pederson: "Nose Up. Six Feet Under." The guy never stopped being a snob even as he was handed his walking papers. I'll contend Pederson did some good things, like cutting spending, "branding" the university with a logo that was much better looking than that "Huskers" script, removing the ugliest basketball court in America and replacing it with a respectable one...he did some good things. But he never shifted out of corporate mode. Even when you saw him in a casual setting, he was in politician mode. He truly put a person ill at ease.

Amen!!!!!!
You wonder how a nebraskan could do what he did. I'm sure he thought he was doing the right thing. But he was quite full of himself that way i hear it. He didnt have family pictures in his office, he had pictures of him with other people...so do i have to go any further? ha!
I feel we are on the right track, but without Tom, we might have been doing the doggy stroke for quite a while before gaining momentom.
Go Big Red, and thank God for Tom. He gave up his right hand man for a short while to help get us straightened out.
As i said.......Amen!

Reminds me of a song "Celebrate good times - come on!!! " It has been relatively easy to have forgotten how frustrating and pathetic HUSKER life was only one year ago! Thanks for the reminder!

Having Dr. Tom back in our program is the best thing that could have ever happened to the Huskers. He is someone I have the utmost respect for. His book, "Faith In the Game" is one of my favorite books. His wisdom, humility, intelligence, spirituality and high ethics would be hard to beat. Then top that off with incredible football knowledge and you have our perfect Athletic Director. A commemorative tatoo would definitely be in order!
