I have begun to wonder recently if turnover margin is a statistic that is a result of better luck than everyone else or some sort of knack for being in better position when the opportunity arises. I guess you can coach putting the helmet on the ball and when you tackle from behind, punch or rip at the ball to create fumble opportunities. No doubt our secondary has been in position to pick a lot more balls off than it has. Dropped balls have been a frustration.

As much as this deeply pains me to say it...some of this has a real ring of truth to it. Penalties and turnovers, penalties and turnovers...Iowa is in the top five of the nation in both. Nebraska is in the bottom quarter. Tough medicine to swallow - but medicine nonetheless.
