Doc Sadler just upped the ante on Nebraska's 2010 non-conference schedule.

The NU men's basketball team will play in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off next year, with a fairly gaudy list of participants: North Carolina, West Virginia, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Western Kentucky and Hofstra. The Tar Heels and Gophers, in particular, will be strong contenders for the national championship.

No first-round matchup has been set for the Cornhuskers, but Nebraska would seem guaranteed one game – and possibly three – against power conference teams.

“This is going to be a test. With a field like that, you’re going to find out real quick what kind of team you have,” Sadler said. “These early season tournaments are fun for the fans, but it’s tough for the team because you have three games in four days and have to make that quick turnaround. Hopefully it will be something good for us with so many young guys coming back.”
