As Husker MVP...I believe Jerry Trickie's new NU basketball blog sums up Velander's accolades well enough here.
I dunno, some people figure Ade Dagunduro should have won it. And he was Nebraska's best player. But, in some ways, Velander really was the MVP. For one thing, he never groused about the lack of a scholarship - and there guys, like Shang Ping and Alex Chapman, who never did a dang thing on scholarship. For another, he was a team guy. Teammates liked Paul and fed off of him. -
