We're hearing rumblings of just that possibility, folks.
Hagg, right now, is at strong safety with Larry Asante. Asante, love him or hate him, is responsible for all the calls, so he probably isn't going anywhere.
But we may see Hagg make a push on O'Hanlon and Thenarse...
What do you think here? Big-time shake-up coming? -

If he is the best at this time, that's who you play! I really don't care what someone did last year, last week, people play because they are doing the things necessary to be the best. Hand-outs have not come to sports, yet! TGR.

I heard in spring football that a lot of those DBs were really improving a lot, namely prince amukamara and eric hagg. i think asante is a solid safety and a good leader, but he doesnt have very good ball skills and isnt exceptional in pass coverage either, which would be the only two reasons hagg would beat him out. I think hagg could challenge thenarse and o'hanlon, although thenarse has always been a favorite of mine, probably because of his tendency to lay the wood. i love when those safeties come up and just crack a guy. really makes a difference on how well the ball carrier runs. but anyway, i think hagg will compete for playing time and i think he will get it. since thenarse, o'hanlon, and asante will be graduating after this year, i would speculate that hagg would be starting safety the next year, with PJ smith opposite him.huskermaniac28

Thenarse often whiffs on the wood quite a bit, too. Thenarse is better in run coverage than he is in pass coverage. He would have been better on offense, and I still believe that. -

I don't think it would be too hard to beat out Thenarse or O'Hanlon. Hagg is smarter than the former and a better athlete than the latter.
Also, if PJ Smith stays healthy and gets good playing time, I don't expect too much drop-off next year when Asante graduates."Opinions are immunity to being told you're wrong" -Relient K

Good call. Agreed. -
