It's tempting to get a little tunnel-visioned on football right now, but is anybody else a little worried about the volleyball team?

I'm not an expert on the sport, but we got whipped pretty bad in a de facto home game against an inferior team. Not to take away from Michigan, but they're not exactly Stanford or Penn State...

No, not really. They should struggle. They're rebuilding, and the one senior leader, Kori Cooper, is not by any stretch the team's best player.

We'll write more about this today or tomorrow, but we had one specific question at volleyball media day for a number of players: Who replaces Jordan Larson's serving and defense?

The answer this weekend: Nobody did. In the service game, we're not sure anyone can; Larson was the nation's best server for two years, and she intimdated folks with it. Opponents had to gameplan specfiically for it.

On defense, somebody will have to step up. (And we're not talking the libero, here, but a non-defensive specialist.)
