Here are some quick facts about the recently released depth chart:
-The huskers currently have true freshman 2nd stringers at quarterback, I-back, and wide receiver. In addition, a true freshman at both linebacker and corner are sharing 2nd string.

-At BUCK linebacker, the top 3 consist of 2 redshirt freshmen and a true freshman.

-At WILL linebacker, a walk-on sophomore (and former safety) is sharing the starting spot with a scholarship junior.

-At MIKE linebacker, a redshirt freshman is starting over 2 seniors. The 2nd string senior is a former walk-on and the 3rd string senior is a scholarship player and was hyped coming out of high school.

-At right cornerback a true sophomore is sharing the starting spot with a junior

These quick facts tell me 3 things:
1. Recruiting heavily hyped players is overrated, and the walk-on program indeed can be very effective
2. There will be a lot more true freshmen playing this year, which will give us a boost for next year's recruiting
3. In 2 or 3 seasons including this one, Nebraska will be a top 5 caliber team and a national championship contender. All those freshmen look sensational.
